Jizerka in the German TV show Hanseblick!
Jizerka appeared in the popular German travel show Hanseblick, broadcast by the NDR television station. In the latest episode, German viewers could explore the magical places of the Jizera Mountains, their natural beauty, and interesting stories of local residents.
The show presents Jizerka mainly during the winter as a paradise for cross-country skiers, where dozens of kilometers of trails are regularly maintained. Viewers could experience riding a snow groomer and peek behind the scenes of our accommodation facilities, Panský dům and Pyramida, including an exclusive look into the kitchen and restaurant operations. They also visited the unique spaces of the local Glassworks, where there is a gym.
The show also features the legendary “Hnojový dům” and conversations with relatives of Gustav Ginzel, a famous local adventurer and traveler.
The German NDR television described Jizerka as one of the most beautiful places in Bohemia, with several picturesque wooden houses scattered in an open mountain landscape. Jizerka is also known as the cold pole of the Sudetes, frequently experiencing temperatures down to minus 30 degrees Celsius and ensuring ample snow even during milder winters.
Once home primarily to glassblowers, lumberjacks, and gemstone hunters, Jizerka today is popular with skiers and tourists alike. The show also highlights the significant winter sports center in neighboring Jakuszyce, where cross-country skiing and biathlon World Cups are held.
